	About Us Austin’s Restaurants, owned by Dan Campbell - a Cleveland native and restaurateur, began in 1994 with the opening of Austin’s Smokin’ Steakhouse located in Mayfield Heights. Campbell’s most recent addition, Austin’s Wood Fire Grille located in Brecksville, held its grand opening in October of 2002. Austin’s restaurants specialize in authentic Texas cuisine cooked to perfection over mesquite fired grills. Campbell prefers to fill his menus with unique tasting food that is difficult to cook at home. This makes a visit to either of Austin’s restaurants a treat for the taste-buds. "There is a lot of talent required to achieve the tastes offered by wood fire grilling. Most restaurants shy away from cooking with a wood fire because of unstable availability of hardwoods such as mesquite and hickory" states Mr. Campbell. "We all love working with wood and could bend your ear for hours about it"ask any of our customers and they will let you know the flavor is well worth the effort." Campbell inherited his love of wood-fired cooking from his mother’s family who traces their roots back to the Lone Star State. In fact, the name "Austin’s" refers to "Austin Street:" where Campbell’s grandparents home is located in Texas. The Company Austin's Restaurants are owned and operated by Goodie Good Goods, Inc. Shareholders in the organization consist of an array of local business people with the primary shareholder being Daniel M. Campbell.
